In a touching demonstration of community spirit, Women of Kehillah is bringing joy to local Jewish students in Chicagoland by donating desired new games and sports equipment for recess. Women of Kehillah is an initiative powered by Kehillah Fund that unifies women in the community around supporting Jewish education on a communal scale.
The initiative touches more than 3,200 students at nine local day schools, creating ripples of excitement across the Chicago Orthodox educational community. JCFS Knapp Yeshiva, Hillel Torah, Arie Crown, Akiba-Schechter, Cheder Lubavitch, JDBY-YTT, Shaarei Chinuch, Torah Academy of Buffalo Grove, and Yeshiva Ohr Boruch each got to place specific requests and benefit from this generosity valued at $5,000.
Rabbi Avraham Varnai from Cheder Lubavitch captured the excitement perfectly: “The students were so excited to see all the new games and toys, which will definitely enhance our recess program!”
Rabbi David Rosenberg from JCFS Knapp Yeshiva expressed profound gratitude for this “kindness and ongoing moral and financial support,” highlighting the deeper significance of the gift.
Women of Kehillah strives to identify opportunities to enhance the Jewish educational experience for teachers and students alike. Each game and sports equipment represents an opportunity for children to learn, play, and grow together, reinforcing the bonds that make their community strong.
Kehillah Fund’s mission is to raise communal funds to support Chicagland’s Orthodox day schools, actively working to strengthen Jewish education and ensuring continuity in Chicago and beyond.
