Achdus in Action: 867 Jewish Women & Girls Fill Theater with Song and Purpose

The evening, organized by Women of Kehillah and Zisa Zimmerman a”h Aneinu, masterfully combined personal inspiration with communal solidarity, featuring performances by Tehila Erlich, Tamar Rubin, and the Ashira Girls Choir, while raising funds for 11 local Jewish Orthodox schools through the Kehillah Fund.

The 867-seat theater was filled to capacity with women and girls of Chicago who sang, davened, and cheered as they waved red, blue, and green lightsticks.

Organized by the Women of Kehillah and Zisa Zimmerman a”h Aneinu, the evening seamlessly bridged individual chizuk and communal achdus.

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Elizabeth Walder, President and Chair of Kehillah Fund, set the tone, sharing, “Achdus is a principal at the core of my value system, as it was for my late husband, Yosef of blessed memory, and so I’m delighted that the word seems to be out about Chicago! We are on the map as a place of achdus and generosity.”

“Such a beautiful night, so meaningful and uplifting!” exclaimed Sarah Wineberg, Women of Kehillah steering committee member.

Singers Tehila Erlich and Tamar Rubin, accompanied by the Ashira Girls Choir, delivered soul-stirring performances, and women and girls recited Tehillim together.

“I’m on a high from this night!” said Shavy Hass, another committee member. “Such a beautiful combination of achdus, tefillah, and a variety of performers. It’s sooo needed in Chicago.”

Ticket prices ranging from $18 to $54—with a $10 student discount—ensured accessibility. Thanks to 17 generous sponsors, 100% of ticket sales directly benefit Chicago’s K-8 Jewish Orthodox schools through Kehillah Fund.

Robin Loeb, Associate Director of Kehillah Fund, reflected, “I’m so grateful for our beautiful singers, the precious choir of kids from our different schools, and the amazing ruach of the audience.”

Kehillah Fund provides consistent, reliable support to 11 local schools, giving Jewish children access to a Torah-based Jewish education. Concertgoers, supporters, and sponsors united to fund these schools to ensure Jewish pride leadership for generations in Chicago and beyond.
